BOP Control Hose
Copper State Rubber BOP Control Hose
A BOP control line carries the hydraulic pressure that opens and closes a blowout preventer's valves and rams from a remote control system. It is part of the well control system itself, not a peripheral component. A failure here does not just interrupt operations. It removes the ability to control the well.
Why Pressure Rating and Certification Matter
Not every BOP control hose is built for the same conditions. Two factors separate a reliable hose from a liability: working pressure and certification.
Working pressure determines what the hose can safely handle before failure becomes a risk. Certification confirms the hose was built and tested to a recognized standard, not just a manufacturer's internal claim. API 16D is the standard that governs control systems for drilling well control equipment, and it is the certification operators and drilling contractors look for when qualifying a BOP control line supplier.
BOP Control Hose
Copper State Rubber's BOP Control Hose complies with API 16D, Section 10.1.2 (latest edition), and meets Lloyd's Register of Shipping Section I of OSG1000/499 (Certificate No. HOU-020146/2). It is rated for 2,500 to 5,000 PSI working pressure, available in 1/2 inch through 2 inch inside diameters, and built to a 4 to 1 safety factor.
Built for Well Control Duty
A BOP control line sees different demands than a standard hydraulic hose. The cover is built from multiple layers of fire retardant material with a stainless steel outer casing, and the hose holds its rating across a -40°F to 250°F working temperature range. Standard termination is 1 inch 316 stainless steel male connections with extra-long threads, with welded fittings available to match customer requirements.
Copper State Rubber also manufactures a separate Motion Compensator Hose for heave-compensation systems, built on a similar construction at a higher 2,500 to 7,500 PSI range, for operations that need both control-line and motion-compensation service from one supplier.
Manufactured in the USA
Copper State Rubber manufactures its BOP Control Hose in the United States, at its Avondale, Arizona facility. Manufacturing domestically means CSR controls every stage of production and can move a custom order faster than a supplier sourcing from overseas. For an operator facing downtime, that difference in lead time can matter even more than price.
