Marine Hose

Copper State Rubber Submarine Offshore Petroleum Loading Hose, Avondale Arizona

Copper State Rubber Marine Hose

A marine hose provides the flexible connection for transferring petroleum products between a tanker and a terminal, buoy, or another vessel at sea. It operates under constant motion from wave action and vessel movement while under suction and discharge load. A failure here does not stay contained. It puts product directly into open water.

Why Engineering Limits and Build Standards Matter

Marine hose is not governed by a single certification the way some oilfield hose categories are. What matters instead is a documented set of engineering limits and a verifiable build standard: maximum flow velocity, elongation tolerances, and certified connection welding. A hose without those documented limits is a hose with an unknown failure point.

Submarine Offshore Petroleum Loading Hose

Copper State Rubber’s Submarine Offshore Petroleum Loading Hose, commonly referred to as a Marine Hose, is rated for suction and discharge service at 225 PSI working pressure, built to a 5 to 1 safety factor, and engineered to a maximum flow velocity of 50 feet per second. Maximum temporary elongation is limited to 2.5 percent and permanent elongation to 0.7 percent. Nipples conform to API-5L Grade A, flanges conform to ANSI standards, and all connection welding is certified to API-1104.

Built for Connection at Sea

The hose comes standard with built-in nipples and is available with a specially reinforced end for direct connection to a PLEM, identified by a white band at the reinforced end. All exposed nipple and flange surfaces are coated with zinc or epoxy paint for corrosion protection, excluding flange facings.

Hoses under 12 inches inside diameter use welded slip-on flanges as standard; 12 inches and greater use welded weld-neck flat face flanges. Copper State Rubber also manufactures a separate Submarine Hose for LPG and crude oil service and a Sand Suction Hose for dredging applications, for operations that need more than one type of marine hose from a single supplier.

Manufactured in the USA

Copper State Rubber manufactures its Marine Hose in the United States, at its Avondale, Arizona facility. Manufacturing domestically means CSR controls every stage of production and can move a custom order faster than a supplier sourcing from overseas. For an operator facing downtime, that difference in lead time can matter as much, if not more, than price.
